x-y=6 ---> (1)
(x+6)/(y+6)=8/5 ---> (2)
x+y=?

(1) ---> x=y+6
(2) ---> (x+6)/x=8/5 => 5x+30=8x => x=10 => y=4
x+y=10+4=14
