LTE: What all MCS indexes can be used for the configuration of PMCH ?

Many values for the MCS index have been defined in the specification. Value ranges from 0 to 31.
Each MCS index values corresponds to different combination of "number of spatial streams + modulation type + Coding rate" .
In case of PDSCH resource allocation, eNodeB considers feedback from the UE but in case of PMCH where data is transmitted only at downlink. How a particular MCS index would be chosen for multimedia multicast broadcast data transmission ?
If I am correct, selection of MCS index is done at MCE and sends to eNodeBs/cells belong to the same MBSFN area ?
In this case when MCS index is selected by MCE, how MCE take decision on this factor ?
I am also looking for set of MCS index values which can be used for MBMS transmission ?

Hi rupam,

Its a implementation specific , You can have your own approach while scheduling MBSFN. Like if you want to over all Users then select the user who has low MCS then use the same for all users. If you want to make sure spectral efficiency then select the highest MCS and use it for all users.

Best suitable method is As we cant assure higher modulation levels like 64-QAM for broadcast services. Selecting MCS support for QPSK or 16-QAM modulation type is desirable.

As per my understanding PUCCH resource allocation is not very dynamic. In this case how UE decide to use a specific MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) while using PUCCH channel ?

When BMSC server initiates a service to broadcast, it provides service Id using the TMGI (temporary mobile group Id) and the area i.e MBMS service area. Once MME forwards this information to MCE, how MCE maps this received MBMS service area to MBSFN Area(s) ? How MCE decides on MCCH related BCCH configuration during the M2 Setup request ? In M2 setup request, eNodeB sends the list of serving MBMS service areas per cell to MCE but how MCE decides which cell is going to be part of a particular MBSFN Area. ?
