Hildegard of Bingen
Saint Hildegard (1098-1179) was a German feminist, composer, philosopher, mystic, Benedictine abbess, visionary, and polymath. She founded two monasteries (in 1150 and 1165), and wrote theological, botanical and medicinal texts, as well as letters, songs, and poems.
