Shippingport
The Shippingport Atomic Power Station on the Ohio River in Pennsylvania was near the present-day Beaver Valley Nuclear Generating Station, about 25 miles (40 km) from Pittsburgh. It went online on 2 December 1957, and was in operation until October, 1982.
