Nargis Fakhri is an American model and actress, who mainly appears in Hindi films. Fakhri began her career as a model and appeared as a contestant in The CW series America's Next Top Model. She made her acting debut in the 2011 romantic drama Rockstar, for which she received a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut nomination.

She was born in the year 1979 and her father is a Pakistani while her mother has roots from Czech. She was born and brought up at Queens, New York in USA.

While she was six years old, her father passed away. At this tender age she had to struggle her way up with adversities and poverty. She has a very tough life in her childhood and had to struggle a lot growing up in the neighborhood.

Because she had difficulty in meeting her ends meet, Nargis Fakhri started working at the tender age of 15 years. During her summer holidays, she used to teach arts, ceramics and crafts to young children.

After coming to India, she was not very much aware of the Indian cinema. She participated in America’s top model and Imtiaz Ali was so dumb struck with her beauty that she was offered the lead role in the movie Rockstar.

Nargis Fakhri has got a very strong stomach and during her childhood to teenage life she has eaten a lot of crazy things. She has eaten snails, frogs, alligators and chocolate covered ants.

Nargis Fakhri will be seen for a small cameo role in the Hollywood flick Spy where she will share the silver screen with the beautiful Melissa McCarthy.

Contrary to the personality and the way she carries herself, Nargis Fakhri is quite an introvert in her real life. She is extremely shy and takes time breaking the ice with someone who is not known to her. However she has a terrific sense of humour.

Nargis Fakhri used to party all night when she was in Barcelona. However after shifting to India, she maintains a very low key life style in Mumbai. After her work, she spends the rest of her time by watching Bollywood movies.
