I've been surveying Android benchmarking tools/apps/etc. and I was wondering if anyone here had any additions or comments to/on the following list:

Quadrant Standard Edition
Epic Citadel
SD Tools
RL Benchmark: SQL
Benchmark & Tunning
A1 SD Bench
Quick Benchmark Lite
3DRating benchmark
Smartbench 2011

[I was searching for this for a long time; finally was told that it is available only for windows]

Quadrant Standard Edition is the best one I have used.We have tried to develop one similar to that, and used the ACHARTENGINE library for displaying such graphs as shown by the Quadrant.The main design of the app is the core C /Assembly routines being packed as a shared library and being called by the JNI to transmit the data to the upper layers.The major Bench-marking we did were :

(1) I/O read write latencies
(2) ALU - Calculating complex mathematical calculation
(3) File System Read Write
(4) Image Rendering Latency to test the Hardware Graphic Engine.

But I dont know to how far this approach is justified to measure the bench-marking of any platform running Android.

I would bin the benchmarks into several different categories, for example, CPU, Memory, I/O (storage), GPU, OS and overall system. Some benchmarks are more OS oriented, such as Dalvik, SQLite, and Javascript.

Has anyone archived some third-party libs like jars, .so files into a module to generate an aar file? I put the .so files into jniLibs, but when I generate an aar files, I found the menu of the files was wrong with some empty dirs. And I put this aar file into my project, something goes wrong (crashes) when it calls .so files.

Can u help me to make it right?

    protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {

        Button addBtn = (Button) findViewById(;
        addBtn.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
            public void onClick(View v) {
                EditText amoutGiven = (EditText) findViewById(;
                EditText manyPeople = (EditText) findViewById(;
                EditText moenyGiven = (EditText) findViewById(;
                TextView changeTxt  = (TextView) findViewById(;
                Button nxtBtn     = (Button) findViewById(;
                Button tryBtn     = (Button) findViewById(;
                android.view.inputmethod.InputMethodManager imm = (android.view.inputmethod.InputMethodManager)getSystemService(INPUT_METHOD_SERVICE);
                imm.hideSoftInputFromWindow(getCurrentFocus().getWindowToken(), 0);

                if (amoutGiven.getText().length()==0){
                    amoutGiven.setError("This field is required");
