Fedup issue with thunderbird after to fedora upgrade?

I upgraded to fedora 20 from fedora 19 using fedup. Everything went well except for some weird issues with Thunderbird. The latter is now giving me a pile of weird permission errors and disk space errors. There is 250GB free space, so I know that is not the problem. Obviously this has something to do with the permissions on the thunderbird folder, but I do not have the knowledge to rectify the problem.

Please suggest how to proceed?

Since fedup doesn't muck with user files, it is doubtful to be a permission issue on your ~/.thunderbird directory. Everything under that directory will be owned by your username. Certainly you can ensure that the files are owned by your username by doing....

chown -R username:usergroup ~/.thunderbird (using the appropriate values)

You'd be much better served to actually post the actual error messages you are getting as opposed to people assuming what you're seeing and then making suggestions based on assumptions that may not be valid.

I have a f17 x64 system that I want to upgrade to the latest Fedora. I found information indicating that I should use fedup. I have read further and gotten conflicting reports and suggestions. The project documentation says to use this method but user reports say it doesn't work. Could I get some clarification on this subject?

Can I actually use fedup to go to f19 from f17? Do I have to do an upgrade through f18? Is there a good "how to", step-by-step, on the subject for this scenario?

I have been having a problem with TB for quite some time, and I am getting rather tired of the problem.

Images in messages that are sent to me by users of windows are not displayed in TB. Rather, all I see are empty boxes where images are supposed to be.

This is not to say that every message I get from windows users containing images are treated this way by TB.

I am just saying that some individuals I know, who use windows, and send me email containing images are treated this way by TB.

Is there a setting that I need to set?

After upgrading my fedora21 to fedora22 using fedup, I tried to record a simple screen video by using the gnome3 embedded screencast (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R), After pressing the combined keys, the familiar red point appears on the right-top of my desktop.
After 30 seconds passed, the screencast tool exited, this is expected. and then I go to the Video directory, there is a webm video file there, but the size of the file is zero.

Is there any way to track what caused this issue and how to fix it?
