Hi ,

As per my understanding S1AP will use heart bet mechanism to detect an Link failure and re establish the connection if required.
Hear beat mechanism means they will exchange some beat packets to monitor the link.

I have seen GTP control messages and found that F-TEID consists of an IP address and 32 bit long Tunnel Id. For example: Create Session Response message contains control plane F-TEID and user plane F-TEIDs. I have a question here, why not only TEIDs are included in Create Session Response message when IP address would be common ? or Does it mean control and user plane both F-TEIDs may have different IP address ?

LTE network uses GTP-U based interface between eNodeB and SGW to transport user data, Is 5G network going to similar GTP based user plane between NG-RAN and UPF ?

When target eNodeB is not able to allocate resource for all the bearers which comes as part of Handover Request message, it sends handover request ack with partial success since "E-RABs Failed to Setup List" is present in HOReqAck message.
What MME or source eNodeB does in that case ? Does any action taken by MME for the E-RABs which failed to setup at target eNodeB or some other actions taken ?
