Hi harshita,

gNB provides 5G protocol architecture to serve UE in-terms of user plane and control plane messages
ng-eNB provides LTE/E-UTRAN protocol architecture to serve UE in-terms of user plane and control plane messages

In case of gNB, protocol stack towards UE for control and user planes would be based on 5G technology while in case of ng-eNB, protocol stack towards UE would be same as LTE. In both the cases gNB and ng-eNB, connectivity towards core network would be based on NG interface.

5G network consists of 5G NR and 5G-Core. I came to know that next generation eNB i.e. ng-eNB would support NG interface with 5G-Core. I want to know, which use cases requires such kind of network ?
