Two men play a dice game involving roll of two standard dice. Man X says that a 12 will be rolled first. Man Y says that two consecutive 7s will be rolled first. The men keep rolling until one of them wins.

What is the probability that X will win ?

With 2 dices there are 6 * 6 = 36 combinations of which 1 combination leads to 12 and 6 combinations lead to 7.
Max X has a change of 1 in 36 that 12 will be rolled.
Max Y has a change of 6 / 36 * 6 /36 = 1 in 36 that 2 consecutive 7 will be throw.
As the change for both evens are identical, man X has 50% change of winning.
