Divide Rs 16653 in to 3 parts so that their amount after 2,3 and 4 years respectively may be equal, the rate of interest being 5% annum at simple interest.

If we divide it into 3 as x,y & z, we have
1) x+y+z=16653,
with interest added,
x+10%=1.1x- after 2 years
y+15%=1.15y- after 3 years
z+20%=1.2z- after 4 years and all 3 will be equal
2) 1.1x=1.15y=1.2z
from 1) and 2) we find out 3 figures below:
