The statement was made on a Monday

Explanation:
if yesterday was tomorrow then today would be a Saturday
so it means make your tomorrow a Sunday the day before is a Saturday
now take your Sunday to yesterday
what comes after a Sunday is a Monday
so the teacher said it on a Monday morning when the yesterday was Sunday
so if you moved the yesterday of a Monday that is a Sunday to tomorrow
the yesterday of a Sunday is Saturday when your tomorrow is a Sunday
so Monday is the day
