no, both blocks will fall, as the wall is frictionless. even if there exists a frictional force at the interfaces of the blocks that will cancel out each other as internal force for both the blocks as an integrated system. Result is: both the blocks will fall. answer Mar 23, 2017

The 2 blocks together will be falling at an acceleration of g but there wont be any relative motion between the 2 blocks as long as the horizontal forces keep following the blocks. answer Mar 23, 2017
