Given that D, E, F are the midpoints of the opposite sites in the triangle ABC, find the area of the shaded region?

The area of this triangle is 1/6 the area of the big triangle because areas ACE and ABE are equal. FE is one third of AE or one half of AF. So the area CFE is 1/3 rd of half the area of big triangle or 1/6th area of ABC
