In coastal seawater
They are types of edible seaweed. Irish moss or carrageen moss is a species of red algae which grows along the rocky parts of the Atlantic coast of Europe and North America. The several species of Kombu are a Japanese kelp; it grows along coasts in East Asia and the Pacific.
