São Paulo, Brazil
Cacareco (1954-1962) was a female black rhinoceros exhibited in Brazilian zoos. The election had a very low turnout; effectively the vote for Cacareco was a protest vote against what was seen as rampant corruption. Electoral officials did not accept Cacareco as a candidate.
