A Prisoner is a person who is confined in prison or kept in custody, especially as the result of the legal process (sentenced for some crime) or of war whereas a slave is a person who is the property of and wholly subject to another; a bond servant. Prisoner becomes free after the sentence is served or prisoners are exchanged whereas a slave will never be free.
