What happens to social security if I change my last name?

I receive social security for myself and children. I want to change our last names to my maiden name and was wondering if it affected social security?

A person can change his or her name for a number of reasons, including marriage, divorce, and naturalization. Once a new name has been adopted, both the Social Security Administration and and one's own employer should be notified of the name change.

a lot of people change their names like if you get married you just need to bring in your marriage certificates if you go to court to change it back to your maiden name you bring your court papers into social security it happens all the time
