Vyjayanthimala
Vyjayanthimala turned down the role, as she had retired by then. The role eventually went to Nirupa Roy. Interestingly, Nirupa Roy had replaced Vyjayanthimala in Deewar as well. Both films were written by Salim-Javed and both starred Shashi Kapoor.
