PreCoded OFDM meand SC-FDMA in LTE, OFDMA has a high level of PAPR which requires put a big battery requirement on Handset and in such case handset can not be sleep and trendy. So LTE uses downlink as OFDMA (where power was consumed at eNodeB and UE only receives the signal) and for uplink it uses pre coded version of OFDM i.e. SC-FDMA (as for uplink power is consumed at the UE) which is nothing but a single carrier FDMA.
