Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership to Akamai's Streaming Engineering team in India & mentors junior developers in industry best practices , procedures & concepts
- Willingness to travel to Akamai USA as & when the need arises for short term visits.

Basic Qualifications:
- Overall experience: 7 - 12 years industry experience
- C/C++ development experience with Linux/Unix platforms , implementing multi-thread client/server applications that communicate via TCP/IP
- 7+ years of development experience
- Development experience with HTTP based systems

Desired Qualifications :
- Leadership experience with architecture , design & operations for large , distributed & complex system
- Deep knowledge of media streaming technologies , encoding , protocols & formats
- Experience with security models including authentication , encryption & PKI
- Development experience with HTTP Dynamic Streaming & HTTP Live Streaming
