Thanks for your reply Salil. But if we select algorithm which is not supported by UE, what cause does it adds in security mode reject.
One suggestion that you register on the site and post so that it does not pass from approval cycle and in general people react faster if they see the name and would be helpful in subsequent discussions.

Now coming to your subsequent query what I can say that we generally see the 23 and 24 cause code in security mode reject which is security capabilities mismatch and security mode rejected unspecified respectively and in your case you should receive 23.

I am assuming that you are talking about the Security mode reject (NAS Message) which you receive from UE against the message Security Mode Command.

Without having much detail it is difficult to comment but check UE network capability in the Attach request and UE relayed capability in Security Mode command so that you can get some clue.

Just check if you testing the Real UE against the network simulator or vice-versa then following link may be very handy for you

In attach request, UE sends UE network capability which contains the list of security algorithms can be used to enable security between UE and network node. My question is, when UE already knows its supported algorithms then why MME resend the same list of security algorithm to UE in security mode command ? What would be the reasoning behind it ?
