Will the antivirus on host will protect me in VB OS also?

I am running WinXP running in Virtual Box. I have Norton 360 running in Win 7. If I go on line with XP in Virtual Box will Norton 360 in the host, Win 7, protect me from viruses downloaded in XP (in Virtual Box)?

If not, what must I do to protect downloads in XP? Install a separate antivirus program in virtual XP?

VM is just like a mini computer and It can get infected the same way.

My main advice is setup 2 users: one has admin privileges, 1 does not. Install and update with the admin user then get out and use the non-admin user every day. This eliminates 90%+ of the threats that cannot install their bad software without admin privileges.

And yes you do need to run Anti-Virus, Firewalls and other protections. It is a mini-computer.

Windows 10 host system crashing on Virtual Box?

I am using Virtualbox on a Windows 10 host system, a Fedora 25 guest system, and with guest additions.

I recently had a Windows 10 automatic update and this problem did not seem to occur before that. I have tried to uninstall the updates, but I think some of the changes are left behind.

The crash seems to happen while I am accessing the internet on the host system and working in the guest system.

The blue screen of death has the following error type in it SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Has anyone else been experiencing this ?

Adding ethernet port to the virtualbox on ubuntu os?

I am using VirtualBox with Ubuntu version 14 installed in it. I have created 4 virualbox ports vboxnet0,1,2,3.

I would like to add 2 new ethernet ports in Ubuntu to assign each ethernet port to a vboxnet , I am already having eth0 and eth1, I would like to add 2 more ethernet ports, please help?

window defender with antivirus software

I have a quick question; Should I download a free antivirus program like AVG to supplement window defender or is window defender all I need with windows 8.1 ?

If I did download AVG free would there be any conflict issues with window defender ?
