Port redirecting in Apache?

+5 votes
177 views

Is it possible to redirect a request for one port to another one. Say a request like HTTP://DOMAIN_NAME:3030 be accepted and redirected/mapped, so that the server should be able to process the request like HTTP://DOMAIN_NAME:3000. And a direct request like HTTP://DOMAIN_NAME:3000 should be restricted.

Is there any modules, directive in apache to achieve this.

Is it possible to configure Apache 2.4 to accept only one connection at time on port 443? is this something I can configure for my Virtual Hosts?

We have a set up like Apahce (80,443) redirects the request to Tomcat (8080) using mod_jk.

The new requirement is to route the request from the same apache to another tomcat (8090). Hence I made the different config file for apache with different ports (86,4444) and different worker for mod_jk which routes the request to tomcat.

Now the issue is when I hit the url http://:86 and after providing the credentials, it is redirecting to https://:86 and throwing the below error.

Error in browser:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to x.x.x.x:86. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)

Error in logs:

Could you please suggest where it might went wrong and the way forward..

I started apache server which has worker as mpm in debug mode. I killed the process with kill -9 then it kills the process and stop debug. But when I am using kill -term PID then it is not killing process. Whereas kill -term PID is woking with prefork debug.Â
If I want to use kill -term PID in debug mode of worker then how to do that.

I am a bit confused about the mod_rewrite documentation. It shows this rule to block hotlinking:

RewriteCond "%{HTTP_REFERER}" "!^$"
RewriteCond "%{HTTP_REFERER}" "!www.example.com" [NC]
RewriteRule ".(gif|jpg|png)$" "-" [F,NC]

however, I'd think a better rule would be:

RewriteCond "%{HTTP_REFERER}" "^$" [OR]
RewriteCond "%{HTTP_REFERER}" "!(www.)?example.com/.*$" [OR,NC]
RewriteRule ".(gif|jpg|png)$" "-" [F,NC]

if I want to block anyone manually typing in a link (no referer) + hotlinking (probably has a referer). Do i need the [OR] on the 1st
RewriteCond and not the 2nd one? It seems to work with OR on both conditions.
