5G network consists of 5G NR and 5G-Core. I came to know that next generation eNB i.e. ng-eNB would support NG interface with 5G-Core. I want to know, which use cases requires such kind of network ?

Hi,

In some case where operator doesn't want to replace LTE node and cell where they can just improve the protocol to NG-ENB and use the same cell to serve UE, instead of new cell (5G cell) they can use same cell of LTE. This will reduce the deployment cost.Where as core network is easily deployable and it is cost effective (because no environment dependency ) so they can change to 5G -core to support NG-ENB.

I am curious to know that how home PLMN is going to provide its services to its subscribers through visited network (international roaming) ? What would be preferred way by an operator ?
