Who was the first Indian (in fact the first Asian also) Test cricketer to have been knighted?

knighted is a special awarded for "services to sport"; there are no fixed criteria and the award is (nominally) made by the reigning monarch of the UK.

Sir Vijay Ananda Gajapathi Raju About this sound pronunciation, better known as the Maharajkumar of Vizianagram or Vizzy, was an Indian cricketer, cricket administrator and politician. He was knighted in 1936.

Sir Vijay Ananda Gajapathi Raju was the first Indian Test cricketer to have been knighted.
