I am a world-renowned "symbol". In the English language, if I'm added to a noun, it turns to an adjective (in most cases).

If you put horizontal lines through me, I become a currency, but it is not used in many countries.

In Spanish, I am a "symbol", but also I am a word. I am used to connect words and phrases. If you watch your School House Rock, I go along with a junction.

What am I?

The following words create a triangle. To get to the next word, you delete a letter, and in most cases rearrange them. Luckily, some hints are given to help you figure out what the words are.

7 letters - Acetylsalicylic Acid
6 letters - Injury
5 letters - Where the Arc de Triomphe is
4 letters - Tears
3 letters - Small Taste of a Drink
2 letters - Homophone of a Delicious Pastry
1 letter - Not "You and Me", but Rather "You and _"

Each pair of definitions is for two words, where the second word is the first word with an extra letter added somewhere (example: band & brand). The length of the short word in each pair is provided.

1) military supplies & a municipal regulation (8 letters)
2) a sudden brief rush of wind & a patron of a hotel(4 letters)
3) to take great delight & to make known (5 letters)
4) a broad scarf that is looped under the chin & the symbolic figure of a team (5 letters)
