A man leaves \$10,000 in his will, to which there are 6 beneficiaries - his three sons and their wives. The 3 wives receive \$3,960 of which Jennifer gets \$100 more than Rachel and Holly gets \$100 more than Jennifer. Of the sons, James gets twice as much as his wife, Eric gets the same as his wife, and Sam gets 50% more than his wife.

Who is married to whom?

1 James & Holly
2 Sam & Jennifer
3 Eric & Rachel

Sol.
Now, Rachel + 100 = Jennifer & Jennifer + 100 = Holly
So, Rachel + 100 +100 = Holly
R + J + H = 3960
R + R+100 + R +100+100 = 3960
Thus, R = \$1220, J = \$1320 & H = \$1420.

If, we twice H & add 50% more in J the adding total of James, SAm & Eric = \$6040 (10000-3960)

Thus,

James = \$2840 (2*1420)
Sam = \$1980 (1980 + (1980*50%))
Eric = \$1220 (same as his wife Rachel
