Ahaan is stranded on an island covered in forest.

One day, when the wind is blowing from the west, lightning strikes the west end of the island and sets fire to the forest. The fire is very violent, burning everything in its path, and without intervention the fire will burn the whole island, killing the man in the process.

There are cliffs around the island, so he cannot jump off.

How can the Ahaan survive the fire? (There are no buckets or any other means to put out the fire)

Go near the fire.
Get hold of any stick burning and come to the center of the island.
Burn the center of the island.
follow the fire that you created to the end to the east most corner ( Wind is blowing from the west towards east ) where it will extinguish. The initial fire will extinguish at the center as there is nothing left to burn at this point.

P.S: At the point where you set the fire at the center of the island if the wind decided to change direction then you are screwed !!! :D
