Seven men and two boys need to cross a river. The one canoe is tiny and can carry either one man or two boys. How many times does the boat have to cross the river for everyone to get to the other side?

29 times

Steps to get one man over the river: 2 boys cross the river- 1 boy returns- 1 man crosses the river- 1 boy returns
Above steps need to be repeated for every man so 7x4=28 times to get men and one more cross for boys so total of 29 times

There are 10 soldiers on the one side of the river. They need to go to the other side of the river. There is no bridge in the river and no one can swim in the river. One of the soldiers spots the boat with two boys inside. The boat is very small and the boys in the boats also very small. The boat can either hold two boys or one soldier.

Now tell me how can all soldiers go to the other side of the river using this boat ?
