Assume number of men =x
So number of women =3552-x
Money spent for men = 45x/9
Money spent for women = 60(3552-x)/12
Total Money spent = 45x/9 +60(3552-x)/12
= 5x + 5(3552-x)
= 5x + 5x3552 -5x
= 5 x 3552
= $17760

Let's assume there are x men in the area, hence there are (3552-x) women.

Total donation made would hence is: $45 * x/9 + $60 * (3552-x)/12 i.e. $17760

Answer: $17760
