A train 360 m long is running at a speed of 45 km/hr. In what time will it pass a bridge 140 m long? posted Dec 18, 2015

Speed of train(S) =45km/hr
S=12.5m/s
Distance covered by train =D
D=train length +bridge length
D=360+140=500m
Time =D/S=500/12.5=40sec
Ans is 40 sec answer Dec 18, 2015

Speed in m/sec=45*5/18 m/sec =25/2 m/sec.
Total distance to be covered = (360 + 140) m = 500 m.
Time =Distance/Distance
Required time = (500*2)/25 sec = 40 sec answer Jan 31, 2016
