When it comes to defense, each country wants to build bigger, better and stronger artillery. It signifies the wealth and prosperity of the country and its ability to give a good whack to the enemy in case of an attack. A good Navy means military supremacy in the 70% of the World territory. The best summary for the need of Navy can be summarized by the quote “A good Navy is not a provocation to war. It is the surest guaranty of peace.” Warships are an important factor in Navy. Do you know the largest Warship ever build was by Japan in WWII and it sunk in WWII in a suicide mission! It was able to fire a 1,300 Kg Fire Canon from 42 miles!

So, Here is a list of the longest and the most advanced Warships of the world that will make anyone think twice before attacking.

1. Nimitz class (USA)

This is the Longest Warship currently serving in the world. There are 10 such ships and it was first commissioned in 1975. It is 1,092 ft (332.8 m) long and it can hold 5,000 people at one time. That is like a whole city. It can hold up to 90 Helicopters and has a great firepower in terms of Missile attacks. Aside from military matters, these 100,000-ton super-carriers have also provided humanitarian relief from the Indonesian tsunami in 2004 to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

2 .The Kuznetsov-class (Russia)

The Kuznetsov-class aircraft carriers were originally built for the Soviet Navy. There are two such ships and one is with China. It was brought into service in 1990. It is 1001 ft (305 m) long and can accommodate 1,500 personnel on board.

3. CNS Liaoning (China)

This ship has an interesting story behind it. Russia decommissioned its ship Varyag in 1990 and sold it to Ukraine in 1998 under the assumption that it will be used to construct a club. It was however bought by China who made it into a World Class Warship and inducted CNS Liaoning in their Navy in 2012. This ship is 999 ft (304 m) long and is fitted with defenses against missiles, aircraft and submarines, as well as the ability to operate 30 fixed wing aircraft. It is the first Aircraft Carrier Ship of China which was accidently provided by Russians.

4. INS Vikramaditya (India)

This is the biggest ship of  Indian Navy. Named after the emperor of Ujjain, it is a modified Kiev-class aircraft carrier of Russia which entered into service with the Indian Navy in 2013. It can carry 26 Fighter Jets and 10 Helicopters and many missiles. It has a length of 930 ft (283.5 m) and is service station of more than 1600 Navy personnel.

With a lot of upgrades and technologies added to it, it is now the most feared sea monster in the Latin America. It is capable of carrying over 39 Aircraft and has over 50 Missiles in it. It has a length of 869 ft (265 m).

6. Charles de Gaulle (France)

It stands 858 ft (261.5 m) long and has been in service during the Afgan Invasion to fight against Taliban.

7. America Class (USA)

This sea giant is similar to the Wasp class as its primary function is to put ashore a Marine Expeditionary Unit using helicopters and aircraft in the hostile territory. This ship began its service in 2008 and it took a whopping $ 3.4 billion to build but is totally worth the money. Apart from dozens of Aircraft carriers, it can carry 20 Fighter jets like AV-8Bs, F-35Bs etc making it one of the best in  amphibious warfare. It has a length of 844 ft (257 m) and it is capable of carrying a lot of firepower including decoy missile launchers that protect it from missiles attacks.

8. Wasp Class (USA)

The need for transporting troops to a hostile territory via aircraft from a Naval ship arose during the time of WWII. USA unveiled this warship for the first time in 1978. The Kirov-class battlecruiser is a class of nuclear-powered warship of the Russian Navy, the largest and heaviest surface combatant warships. They are the sole ship to be featured in the top 10 Longest ships which are NOT Aircraft Carriers and are build like pre World War I era. It took $2 Billion to construct them and it has a length of 827 ft (252 m). It can have three helicopters on its dock and is capable of firing more than 100 missiles at the same time. It was the reason that USA constructed its own version of these ships during the cold war.

10. Izumo Class (Japan)

This is the elite Japanese Warship that is a type of new helicopter carrier class being constructed for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). It was recently unveiled on 6 August 2013.
