The Arauco War was a long-running conflict between Spanish settlers and the Mapuche people in the area of what is now Chile. It lasted for 290 years from 1536 to 1825 when Chile gained its independence.

If we go official record then War between Rome and Carthage can be considered as longest war, which started in 264 BC with the outbreak of the Punic Wars, "ended" with a peace treaty signed in 1985.
Time Frame: 2,248 year war,
Result - Carthage was completely destroyed by the Romans and its territory completely annexed. By 146 BC, Carthage's existence as a independent state was over.

The Peloponnesian War, a funny (almost silly) but true story. The Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta started in 431 BC and ended in 404 BC, but there was no official declaration until 1996 when the Mayors of Athens (Dimitris Avramopoulos) and Sparta (Dimosthenis Matalas) signed the mutual end of the Peloponnesian War. So officially the Peloponnesian War lasted 2427 years.
