The Epic of Gilgamesh
It was originally titled “He who Saw the Deep” or “Surpassing All Other Kings”. Gilgamesh is listed as a king around 2700 BC. The most complete version existing is on 12 clay tablets in the library collection of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal (around 700 BC).
