Robert the Bruce
The Battle of Bannockburn was a victory for the Scots over the army of King Edward II of England in the First Wars of Scottish Independence, which had been launched by England in 1296, and effectively ended England's claim to Scotland. The ending was ratified with a peace treaty, the Treaty of Edinburgh–Northampton, signed in 1328 between the Kingdoms of England and Scotland.
