Japan
The FIFA Club World Cup was formerly known as the FIFA Club World Championship, which was first contested in Brazil in 2000. The competition, which was intended to be annual, ran into a number of administrative difficulties and it was reintroduced in 2005. It was renamed as FIFA Club World Cup for 2006.
