World War II
Napalm incendiary bombs were dropped for the first time on 17 July 1944, by American P-38 pilots on a fuel depot at Coutances, near St. Lô, France. They were first used in the Pacific Theatre during the Battle of Tinian and the USAAF bombed cities in Japan with napalm.
