Pakistan
The measures were in response to an energy crisis and rioting, and included extending the official weekend from 1 to 2 days, banning neon signs and decorative lights, cutting power to government offices by 50%, allowing air conditioners to be switched on after 11 am, closing street markets early, closing commercial centres at 8 pm, limiting wedding celebrations to 3 hours, and not allowing tube wells to operate from 7 pm to 11 pm.
