Floor coverings and tapestries
Aubusson is a commune in the département of Creuse in central France. The tapestries created there were woven low-warp large-scale works, competing with the royal tapestry makers of France; the carpets were also woven and usually large-scale, created for nobility and royalty, and developing what became a popular pileless flat-woven technique.
