Darby and Joan
Woodfall had been apprenticed to a printer named Darby, whose marriage to his wife Joan was long. "Darby and Joan" became a popular conceit for an archetypal old, and devoted, married couple. Burke and Hare sold corpses (some of which they had created) to a local medical school in 1828. William and Mary were King and Queen of England 1689-1702.
