Burma, or Myanmar
The Burmese Empire under the Konbaung dynasty at one time included present day Thailand and much of Laos as well, but at the time of the final annexation by the British in 1885 had shrunk to Upper Burma (Lower Burma having already been annexed by the British in earlier wars).
