15 August 1947

The Constituent Assembly, to whom power was to be transferred from British Raj, met to celebrate India's independence at 11pm on August 14, 1947. India gained its freedom at midnight between August 14 and August 15, 1947. While Pakistan celebrates its independence on 14 August whereas India on 15th August.
