M1 is interface between eNodeB and MBMS Gateway.Each MBMS gateway forwards the data to the appropriate base stations across the M1interface, along with a header that indicates each packet’s transmission time.

M1 interface is between MBMS-GW and eNodeB and mainly used by MBMS-GW to send IP multicast packets to eNodeB.

It is uni-directional interface which means that only MBMS-GW can send data packets to eNodeB but packets in reverse direction is not supported.
